Training „NEW CPR”


Participation in the training: „NEW CPR – CHANGES TO THE REGULATION ON MARKING OF CONSTRUCTION PRODUCTS”

On December 13, 2024, we participated in a specialized training organized by CERTBUD, the topic of which was changes in the EU regulation on the labeling of construction products –, the so-called New CPR (Construction Products Regulation). The training was aimed at presenting current legal and technical requirements regarding certification, declaration of performance and labeling of construction products in accordance with the new regulations.

The substantive scope of the training included the following.

  1. New CPR – discussion of changes to the regulation, its validity rules, transitional periods for new regulations and the new labeling template and Declaration of Performance (DoP) and compliance.
  2. Certification obligation for the 3 – system, presentation of new requirements for independent conformity assessment and consequences for manufacturers.
  3. Coexistence of current and new – regulations analysis of the fundamental differences between the existing CPR and the new CE marking regulations, including possible scenarios for construction market entities during the transition period.
  4. Procedure for developing harmonized standards – detailed discussion of the stages of work on standards and their importance in the context of the New CPR.
  5. System 3+ – presentation of an annex to the current CPR, which introduces the 3+ system, its scope of application, validity and groups of construction products covered by the new requirements.
  6. Implementation deadlines – timetable for the entry into force of the provisions of the New CPR for various groups of construction products.
  7. Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) – principles for the development and use of environmental declarations, including:
    • formal obligation vs. market requirements,
    • variation in requirements between EU countries,
    • the importance of the carbon footprint in the environmental assessment of products.
  8. Harmonization of standards to the new CPR – process of adapting existing standards to new regulations, the role of c-PCR documents and updating harmonized standards.
  9. Electronic Product Passport – discussion of the concept of a digital product passport as a tool supporting transparency, traceability and compliance with new environmental and technical requirements.

The training was of a practical and informative nature and was conducted by experts in the field of EU legislation and certification of construction products. Participation in the event allowed us to gain up-to-date knowledge about new obligations of producers and distributors in the context of upcoming legal changes and prepare our company for their effective implementation.
